» jerrib - Hats off to your firefighting crews. It must be awful to be holed up in your house, but you're right - at least you're not in the middle of the action.Washington has had its share of fires this year, too. If we don't get some rain this month wells are going to start going dry. -- posted by jerrib » Red - hotshots... Kathleen, I salute the "Hotshots" of the world. We have wildfires here as well but usually in northern Ontario and in other provinces. This year, because it was so dry, we had fire warnings out here and there were no campfires allowed in Provincial Parks, not even in southern Ontario. That is the first time I can remember fire bans reaching us. Children started several "grass fires" by playing with matches and lighters. Thank goodness the firemen were able to get them under control.I was particularly happy to know that hay and alfalfa is being dropped to the wild mustangs. The world would not be the same without these magnificent creatures. -- posted by Red
