» katzplanet - Re: Enjoyed Hi, Jerri! Thanks for your post-and last year's Rib Cook-Off was a blast! I'm really looking forward to the event this year. I traveled to Washington every summer as a kid to visit my grandparents in Lynden, and I remember how beautiful your state is at this time of year. About the heat here, though, I have found that where I live in Reno the temperature is usually about ten degrees cooler than where I lived previously--so now I'm basking in the cooler weather. LOL: I guess it's all relative! -- posted by katzplanet » obeecat - Re: Re: Enjoyed In response to message posted by katzplanet:Kathleen, as a fellow Reno, Nevadan I really enjoy reading your articles. Please dont forget the Great Truckee Meadows Rubber Duck Race (Aug 12th), The Reno Gay Pride Parade & Celebration (August 18th-19th), and The Great Basin Book Festival(Sept 29th) in your fun list of things to do. Keep up the good work of sharing our wonderful Silver State with others. Janice -- posted by obeecat » katzplanet - Re: Re: Re: Enjoyed Hi, Janice! Thanks for the post and for the information. I'll add the dates you mentioned--and I'm looking for more. If you hear of any more, please let me know. -- posted by katzplanet » jerrib - Weather In response to message posted by katzplanet:Guess it is, Kathleen. You learn to live with where you're at, right? I've thought about putting events on my site but decided to just do a link that lists them as there are so many! You BBQ ribs contest does sound like fun. I also wanted to mention we were there a day before the hot balloon festival a few years ago and could see them from our room. It was great.
