» Phillip_Keen - Article: How to Get Linux For Free! I just got through reading your article. You can get many software packages and Linux Distributions at http://www.linuxberg.com and http://www.linux.com. Linux.com has something very interesting to make configurating your Linux system easier. It has recommendations for what to do for incompatible Linux hardware. A very extremely handy feat in itself. Also your article though I truly realize it was a very brief synopsis of what's out there, but there are now several distributions -- including Slackware that now will work with ms-dos/windows style partitions. This makes getting a linux system up and running pretty fast. The only drawback though is by using these MSDOS petitioning schemes your Linux system is somewhat slower. Presently I am running a dual operating system Windows 98 and Slackware Linux 7.0. It works pretty nice. I still have not gotten Linux configured just like I want it for my hardware as I just simply have not had the time of day to do so. Now Linuxberg.com is affiliated with tucows. So my suggestion to get better downloads is go to the actual company's server/website rather than the suggested servers as sometimes if you are at a slow connection you'll get disconnected and such downloading the large volumes of archives. I hope this helps.-- posted by Phillip_Keen
