How about a prediction? Spurs or Lakers vs the Pacers?

In response to message posted by Cracker49:

I've usually endeavored to avoid predictions, preferring to sound knowledgeable about things that have already happened. Also, because I hate being wrong (see L&L Part II re:Cleveland and New York).

If you insist, however, here's my predictions for the rest of the playoffs, with a few qualifying statements thrown in to mitigate any damage to my credibility.

Spurs def. Lakers in 6, Lakers if it goes to 7 games
Kings def. Wolves in 5 - Watching game 1, I pictured the Kings as the Ghostbusters in the first movie, when they had to confront the first thing they thought of. Webber as Dan Akroyd: "I couldn't clear my mind completely, so I tried to think of the most harmless thing I could, something that would never destroy us...", and then the Stay-Puft man appears in a big Wolves jersey.

Pacers def. Heat in 5, maybe even 4
Pistons def. Nets in 7

Spurs def. Kings in 6 - Kings have noone to match Duncan, Parker negates Sacramento's biggest clutch player in Bibby, Bowen assaults Peja, and Horry finishes off the Kings again.

Pacers def. Pistons in 7 - most entertaining series of the playoffs for fans of Australian Rules Football. Pistons could win if Sheed finds out that he's tall.

Spurs def. Pacers in 6 - Duncan v. J O'Neal will be great to watch, but Duncan is much better at this point. Tinsley is nowhere near Parker's level. Pacers won't jump from first-round loser to champion in one season.
