A Mothers Day Lament
This archived discussion is "read only". » Renie_Burghardt - Re: Mother's Day In response to message posted by Lynford_D_Turner:Aww, thank you, Lynford. I'm so glad you came by today. I'll be enjoying Mother's Day in good company, Sunday. Take care! Renie -- posted by Renie_Burghardt » SWALKER0 - Mothers Day brings mixed emotions to a lot of us. I lost my mother almost 14 years ago. She and my father died just 5 weeks apart. Like you, though, I've had a substitute mother - in my case, my mother-in-law. Although her son and I have been divorced for many years, she and my father-in-law always considered me part of the family, and they played a huge part in how well my girls turned out. So Happy Mothers Day to all who fill the role of mothers, whether they are "real" mothers or not!-- posted by SWALKER0 » jerrib - That vision of your mother was a gift, Renie Perhaps all of this is the reason you are such a wonderful, caring person. You came from a family that dearly loved you and kept you safe in a very troubled time. I'm so glad you got to write to your father, too.Bless you, friend. Happy Mother's Day. -- posted by jerrib

I'm glad your kids will spend Mother's Day with you, and I know your mother will be with you in spirit. One of my sons will be here as well, but my other son and daughter live too far, and I will see them later this summer. However, they will be calling, and we'll be together in spirit. Happy Mother's Day, Joy! -- posted by Renie_Burghardt » earlytimes - Mother's Day Hi Renie,A very poignant story. You truly were touched by an angel. Did you ever see your father again?
