» SWALKER0 - Mothers Day brings mixed emotions to a lot of us.

I lost my mother almost 14 years ago. She and my father died just 5 weeks apart. Like you, though, I've had a substitute mother - in my case, my mother-in-law. Although her son and I have been divorced for many years, she and my father-in-law always considered me part of the family, and they played a huge part in how well my girls turned out. So Happy Mothers Day to all who fill the role of mothers, whether they are "real" mothers or not!

Perhaps all of this is the reason you are such a wonderful, caring person. You came from a family that dearly loved you and kept you safe in a very troubled time. I'm so glad you got to write to your father, too.

Bless you, friend.

Happy Mother's Day.

» Joy Butler - Mother's Day

Life can be sad in many ways but you were fortunate to have had a family so full of love. This is my first Mother's Day without my mother so it's a bit sad, but my kids are here to visit so it will be happy too. Happy Mother's Day to you, Renie.

Hi Joy, I am thankful to God for blessing me with a loving family. I'm glad your kids will spend Mother's Day with you, and I know your mother will be with you in spirit. One of my sons will be here as well, but my other son and daughter live too far, and I will see them later this summer. However, they will be calling, and we'll be together in spirit. Happy Mother's Day, Joy!

Hi Renie,

A very poignant story. You truly were touched by an angel. Did you ever see your father again? Hope you have a Happy Mother's Day.
