Wonderful article Renie...I love holly. Something about it makes Christmas all year long.

It's raining here and cold. Sure is cozy around the wood stove. Now it is starting to seem like December. Hope it don't repeat itself. Last year was terrible. Hugs...

Now all we need is a little mistletoe.

Rosalind, yes, holly has many uses, besides it being so lovely. Do you search for the holly growing in the wild? Olive, the friend whose holly I have pictured, let me snip some nice pieces from her holly, so I'm enjoying the Christmas cheer it represents. Thank you for coming by. I look forward to visiting your web site, and if I can hear you sing, that will be wonderful! The happiest of holidays to you and yours, Roslind! Renie

Hi Bertha, it's cool and rainy here as well, but compared to last year at this time, it's tropical! Hehe. Yep, lets hope and pray that we don't get that ice we had last year. It was awful. Hey, thank you for coming by. Appreciate it, my friend. See you in Arkansas, soon! Hehe.

Hi Hank, yes, all we need is mistletoe, like in the song "Oh by gosh, by golly, there is mistletoe and holly," I think. Hehe. My memory ain't what it used to be.

I didn't know that American Holly could grow so tall! That's especially interesting about the uses of its white wood. I hope your holiday season is going well so far. I've been really excited about it this past week--decorating my home, sending out cards, making presents. I love this time of year! Until later Renie!

Hi Kendahl! Holy Holly is right. Hehe. Yes, things are going well, so far. I've been writing Christmas cards, mailing gifts, and have attended some Christmas to-do's. How nice that you make your own presents. Of course, in a way, I do that, too. I bake cookies to give as gifts, and some of my jams and jellies, and pear honey (can't forget that!) are given as gifts, too. Hey thanks for stoppin by. Enjoy all the preparations! Renie

Renie, When I look at holly I will remember this poem. I love the clear, bright pictures too. God bless. Thanks for the visit!
