Thay're pretty big birds. I hope they save them too. Thanks so much for coming by. Hope you're doing great, Earl. So, starting over... I really enjoyed this article. You always have a way of painting a vivid mental picture. I bet those storks taking off in flight was an amazing sight. We have egrets that come to White Rock Lake which is a little lake near us in Dallas. I don't think they compare with storks though, but they are pretty white birds. I always enjoy seeing them when I drive by and now they will probably make me think of your storks and the story you told. Thanks for sharing a glimpse into your childhood. Take care, -- posted by Fort_Spunky » Renie_Burghardt - Re: White Storks In response to message posted by Fort_Spunky:Hi Linda, I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. I love egrets. I have a great blue heron that comes to my pond often, and I love watching it. I guess I just love animals, period! Hehe. Thanks so much for coming by, and the nice words on the story. Hope it's not too hot in Texas. It's been quite nice for the past week in my part of the counbtry, and I've been enjoying it. Take care. He loved it. It brought tears to his eyes. He is 81, and remembers the storks from his own childhood. Hope you are doing grea, Renie. See you again soon. So glad your uncle liked the stork story, and that it brought back good memories for him. He is 81? How great. Yes, the white storks have been returning to Europe for hundreds of years, so I'm sure they were there when your uncle was a child. Thanks again. You are a dear.
