I know what you mean about baby training vs. raising a happy, healthy child. I'm an attachment parenting mom too and am so happy to see your topic here.Keep up the good work! -- posted by BeckySAHM » rahunter_nf - Welcome, Sara! I have visited your topic. I've been reading your articles while my nine-month-old daughter naps. Your recent article on What a Marriage is Really About makes a good point in that the media unrealistically influences our expectations of marriage. I wonder how much happier people would perceive themselves to be if marriage was portrayed more realistically. -- posted by msaraann » klomanno - Thanks for a great topic Hey Sara,Welcome to Suite101. I'm a fellow editor of the Working Mom Survival Guide topic, and it's so refreshing to see parents following their instincts rather than the advice of a book or so-called expert. I jokingly tell people, "I'm the worst mom in the world" because I still rock my 11-month-old daughter to sleep and let her sleep in our bed. I fed her solids before 6 months against doc's orders because she had chronic constipation from formula, which was forcibly given to her at 3 days old when she was hospitalized for jaundice. We were stuck with formula ever since. Needless to say, I'm wary of doctors at best. How could they possibly know my daughter better than me? I tell my husband, if there were no books or experts on parenting, we'd be forced to follow our instincts. Well, we've just decided to follow our instincts anyway, and we've got a healthy, smart, active, loving, attached daughter. I look forward to your future articles. -- posted by klomanno » ravenfairie - Thanks for a great topic Welcome to suite101! I'm so very glad that I've found your topic. I'm expecting my first child in august and I'm already being overloaded with advice about the 'right way' to do, well, everything. I'm positive that your site and your articles will me very helpful to me keeping up my confidence over the next while. Thanks!
