It sounds like a dream, that the horse would rather be with the rider than just hang out eating grass in the pasture. Tell me more.-- posted by plox » hhuntington - Re: Truly, does your horse to do all that you described in this In response to message posted by plox:My horse and I are exactly the way this article describes. When I bought her, sure she ground tied, but that was it. She would stand there until her teets where getting ready to get cleaned (she hated that)and then balk. About a month together we just clicked. I could do anything, anywhere with her. I've had her 8 years since and we've grown together in an undescribable way. I remember the times I fell of her and she just stood there and waited for me to get back up. My horse doesn't even want to be with other horses. She prefers being with me. I am glad I've gotten to have this kind of a relationship with my horse. I love her as much as I love any human in my life, and hope we spend many more great years together. -- posted by hhuntington » caballus - Re: Truly, does your horse to do all that you described in this In response to message posted by plox:Hi phlox ... yes, it takes time and patience but it's all worth it when you have a horse that would rather hang out with you than with other horses in the pasture. It's an amazing relationship that is truly, truly awesome. I can't honestly say that all my horses do all the things I wrote about but the ones that don't are well on their way. I have to have horses like this around as I have alot of kids around the horses. I need to know that they are as safe as possible. (horses and kids! *vbg*) ... I am fortunate, now, to have my guys at home w/me so I can spend unlimited amounts of time with them. This does make it easier BUT - the same type of relationship can be formed even with a boarded critter. It all takes time. *S* --caballus -- posted by caballus
