» Tina_Coruth - Eat your veggies! Hi Traute,I enjoyed reading this article! I subscribed to their newsletter when you told me about the charity promotion they were involved in some time ago. I have received some outstanding recipes!! Thanks for the article and the introduction! Tina -- posted by Tina_Coruth » biogardener - good news for me At the monthly meeting of the Herb Society, we were informed yesterday that Larry McIntosh is going to be our guest speaker very soon. I am looking forward to meeting him.BTW, you don't have to save the recipes, because their data base is searchable by keyword. -- posted by biogardener » Sunbear - Veggies Hi Traute,Thanks for an enjoyable and informative article. Glad to learn about the company and the personage. Canada is such an attractive place to me in so many ways. Sincerely, -- posted by Sunbear » faithfulone - Count your blessings The excerpts from Larry's New Year's message spoke to me. Truly we are blessed and most of our problems and complaints are trivial compared to those in the rest of the world.-- posted by faithfulone » Dubh_Sidhe - Canada's produce etc ...And last night, Emeril's food program featured Canadian recipes using vegetables and seafood. He said that Canadian salmon which comes from their internal waters, I suppose, is more heathful and deeper in color than Atlantic salmon. He took viewers to several Canadian fish markets and gave a recipe using FiddleHead Fern from Canada, of course. Congratulations Canada on your wonderful produce!-- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » biogardener - Salmon There are huge variations in salmon prices. Canned salmon in Winnipeg, without being on special, range from 1 to 5 dollars Canadian money.I heard recently that there is also a difference between farmed and wild salmon. The farmed salmon starts out at a hatchery. I can't remember, though, what is bad about it. In Winnipeg, the best place to buy seafood is Gimli Fish Market on Dufferin. -- posted by biogardener » biogardener - update I have recently update the article by adding the results of this year's tremendously successful food drive for the food banks network.I have also received some feedback from vegetarians who are delighted with the site. I do not save the recipes. I just look at them to get ideas, but when I have a certain veggie for which I do not have any ideas or if I am looking for a certain ethnic recipe, I always go to Peak of the Market's Recipe Archive and look for is under "Recipe Search." I have always found what I was looking for. Their collection is enormous. -- posted by biogardener » biogardener - Again This year again, Peak of the Market is having a recipe subscription drive. For every subscription, they donate 50 pounds of fresh produce to 225 soup kitchens around the province. You can subscribe for daily, weekly, or monthly recipes. The site is also searchable for produce recipes. Their recipes are truly amazing, and they add a new one every day. -- posted by biogardener
