» biogardener - cloves

Jerri, cloves are antiseptic. You can tell that when you chew them. They draw your mouth together even more that echinacea does. Cloves are the #1 remedy for toothache, because they have a numbing effect. Toothache remedies which you buy in the pharmacy are oil of cloves.

Today, I read an Emazing.com remedy for earaches. I am subscribed to their natural and homeopathic remedy tips. It is an eardrops recipe:

    Ingredients:
      Mullein flowers
      Olive oil
      Garlic cloves

Put about a cup of the mullein flowers in a cup of olive oil in a small pan. The olive oil should cover the flowers. Heat this at a very low temperature for several hours, remembering that you only want to extract the beneficial elements from the mullein, not cook it. Put several cloves of garlic in the batch for the second hour. When you can smell the fragrance of the mullein, cool the mixture and strain it well. When you are ready to use it, shake it and use a dropper to put 5-10 drops into the outer ear. Keep your head tilted to allow the oil to penetrate, then you can place a piece of cotton in your ear to keep the oil from leaking out onto your clothing or your pillow. (Carla Joy)

This method sounds too fussy for me, when I know so many simple and effective remedies.

» joshaven - A wonderful cure to an earache

Click "See Complete Message" above for a quick natural cure to earache's from your kitchen.

My son, who is two, had an earache and our insurance was messed up; so instead of accruing a sizable debt I decided to inquire about solutions from our local Midwife. Lo and behold I had what we needed right in our kitchen. I was told to shred a fresh onion and put a couple of drops of the juice produced in his ear. Within 10 minutes my son was up playing ball with his twin brother.

And don't forget, increase the child's intake of Vitamin C and Garlic.

» biogardener - onion juice

Onion juice makes sense, because onion has the same properties as garlic, only in stronger form, but it is certainly easier to squeeze juice out of onion than garlic.

» biogardener - More on raw onion

Raw onion is easy to use if you use a really juicy thick-fleshed one. I had occasion to use it recently because I had a boil in my ear which was itching. No way was I going to take antibiotics for such a minor problem.

I took a little piece of Spanish onion, scored the soft side to release the juice, rolled it up and placed it in my ear. I did this two night in a row, and the boil totally disappeared.

Just one problem. I did not get all the onion out. The little remaining piece dried up inside. I had to take it out with tweasers. So make sure you get all the onion out before any part of it dries.

» parisfraz2006 - urine

My father told me to urinate in a cup, put it in an eye dropper and put a few in my ear. i laughed thinking it was a joke, but, i realized how serious he was. i decided not to but the pain got worse through the night. i finally had no alternatives left, so i tried it. it sounds gross but it is now the only thing i do for earaches.

» biogardener - Urine

Parisfraz, thank you for sharing your remedy.

Urine is one of God's gifts to man for healing. It has saved many a life. It is the only natural remedy for diphtheria which I know of. I have had diphtheria when I was 12 years old and know that a person's throat can close up in a couple of hours of its onset. If the person drinks urine, the growths which form on the tonsils will fall off.

Urine also prevents your hands from getting chapped. When we were refugees after WWII and had nothing, we learned to urinate on our hands after washing them, and none of us ever had chapped hands. I now use vinegar for the same purpose. It is the acid in the urine like the acid in the vinegar which neutralizes the alkalinity of the water and/or soap and/or dirt. I never use hand lotions. Don't even have any in the house, and my hands are soft like a baby's even though I work out in the garden every day.
