» Adora19 - Help

Hello all,

I am fairly new to this place and just had some questions about the food allergy test that I found on this site. The directions say to take your temperature first thing in the morning, and I discovered that after taking my temperature, a little while later I took my temperature again before eating and it had already risen a few points. I think it might be because my body warms up more after I get moving around. So I really wouldn't know if I am allergic to a certain food or not, if my body temperature rises more after I eat just because i am warming up. Is it very important that I test my temperature right after I get up, or can I wait until my temperature stablizes?

I have never done this food allergy test before this morning, but am very interested in it. I tried it once this morning, and after 1/2 hour of eating my temperature had gone up 3 points, but I wasn't sure if it was because I was allergic to that food or because my body just warmed up some.

I have had lots of stomach trouble and am interested to see if it is because I am allergic to something I am eating. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Adora

Wow! That is a new one on me. I am curious to see what would happen to your temperature after another half hour. Could you maybe take your temperature every half hour for as long as you can hold off eating. I would be interested to hear the results. If it keeps going up, then maybe the temperature test is not the best for you. I know of another test which is great, but I have not yet written it up in an article.

Are you taking your temperature in Fahrenheit of Celsius? Two degrees in Celsius would be a real shock to your system. Even in Fahrenheit, two degrees is a lot. My temperature only rises half a degree Fahrenheit when I have a reaction to a food.

Thanks for responding to me! I found out that I was running a low body temperature, which I think was due to a low functioning thyroid. So I have been taking some stuff for my thyroid. Do you think that could be the reason my body temperature wasn't staying the same? I have taken my temp. a few times a day and it varies so much! I really would like to know if I am allergic to any foods, but with my temp. being so irregular it seems hard for me to tell with this test.

I have been taking my temperature in fahrenheit. Also, I have been using the kind of thermometor that you put under your tongue. What kind do you use, or recommend? Or does it matter?

I really am interested in knowing the other way you can test for food allergies. So if you ever have time to write it out I would love to hear it. :-)

Adora, this would be a good discussion for a group to see if anyone else has experience which could help you. You can sign up for the Biogardener YahooGroup. You can sign up for the group from the box in the left bottom corner of this website: Allergy Lifeline. You can subscribe and unsubscribe to the group and then post questions which everyone in the group will be able to read and answer. The group is just getting started, so I am the only one who has posted messages so far.
