Find a W.O.O.M.B International Billings Method teacher

» jandsfryer - Billings Ovulation Method of natural family planning I congratulate Kristin Steinmetz on her article concerning the Billings Method. Like her, my husband and I have found it to be healthy, safe, effective, cost-free and most valuable going through such times as pre-menopause, breast-feeding and stressful times when ovulation has been delayed. I have found the topic so interesting that over 20 years ago I trained as a teacher accredited by the World Organization Ovulation Method/Billings Inc. based in Australia.I do have a few comments but a couple will suffice in this message. 1) It is best to find an accredited Billings Method teacher in order to have the best results. There are centres all over Canada and in over 100 countries around the world. You can go to the links: http://www.billingsmethod.com or woomb.org to find one, or contact me: jandsfryer@shaw.ca and I can teach you over the internet if there is no teacher near you. 2) The most important sign of fertility is the SENSATION of the mucus secretion as it leaves the body. There is no wiping involved because most women know when they have begun their menstruation, for eg. and when they go to the washroom they can see what is there. A woman will notice a similar sensation of something leaving her body in the days between one menstruation and the next but when she checks she notices something. She records this CHANGE from her basic infertile days (sameness, day after day whether of dryness or a slight discharge (B.I.P.) and tells her husband, "We have begun our fertile days. Are we ready for a baby?" They abstain until the fourth day after all slippery SENSATION of the cervical secretion has disappeared if the wish is to postpone pregnancy. This last day of the slippery, often swollen, sensation is called Peak Day. The woman knows now that her menstruation will occur 11 - 14 days later! If she has just one morning of this slippery sensation at the vulva she will be able to call her husband home on that day if the intention is to conceive a child. Great news for us all! Drs. John and Evelyn Billings will be the guests of honour at a 50 year celebration conference marking the beginning of their research into their method, in Melbourne, Australia, March 2003. There will be a training session following. If anyone would like to donate a few dollars to give as bursaries to Africans wishing to attend please let me know. Meanwhile, there is going to be a conference at which Prof. Erik Odeblad of Sweden, the scientist behind our knowledge of the cervical secretion, will be present, in Seattle, Washington, October 1 - 4, 2002. Contact BOMA USA or me for information. I welcome feedback on my comments. Thank you for posting this. -- posted by jandsfryer » butterfly8 - Re: Billings Ovulation Method of natural family planning In response to message posted by jandsfryer:Thank you for all of the great information in this post. Kristin Steinmetz -- posted by butterfly8 » jandsfryer - Re: Re: Billings Ovulation Method of natural family planning In response to message posted by butterfly8:Thank you Kristin for your good wishes, article and response. I just wish to say that there have been many enquiries for charts, instruction and further information generated because of this discussion. It would be useful now for readers to inform their doctors that there is a way for them to upgrade their information on the Billings Ovulation Method through http://www.woomb.org website e-education for doctors. We must go gently with doctors because their education did not include this new information about how the cycle works. They have been greatly influenced by pharmaceutical companies whose agenda is anything but teach something free to women. I wish to underline the importance of follow-up appointments with accredited WOOMB International teachers who will NOT promote gadgets and devices or contraceptive medications. If a teacher does promote these latter THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED BILLINGS TEACHERS. Contact me at http://www.billingsmethod.com the website or jandsfryer@shaw.ca for further information and help desk. Finally, I would welcome any one or two liners from those women who wish to help others learn the method, for eg. "Why has no one told me about this method before?" This will help me very much when writing further statements to the United Nations at the Commission on the Status of Women, 2003. Thank you.
