Harvick Clenches Championship - Green hunts for a gas canRead the article this discussion is about

» TJSampson - Jeff Green: Bad attitude? Jeff Green has a history of blaming anyone and everyone for his misfortune. Most recently he blamed NASCAR for losing the race at Rockingham and losing his chances at the title. He claimes that NASCAR pulled a "dumb" move by red flagging the race and then later by waving off the restart because the field was not set for the green. His claim is based on fuel and how it flows through the car. The fuel pick up (where the gas is sucked from the tank) is on the right side of the fuel cell. At lower speeds the fuel settles away from the pick up because of the banking of the racetrack. At speed, the fuel is literally flung to the right side of fuel cell due to inertia, thus the fuel is right under the pick up. Green claims that by stalling the race NASCAR cost him the win and his Championship hopes. BUT, the other 8 cars still on the lead lap came into the pits and got fuel, while Green stayed on the track. It seems top me that the other drivers and crew chiefs knew that they were in trouble of running out of gas and made the stops. So as I see it Jeff Green beat himself and by passing blame on NASCAR he makes himself and his team look even more foolish than they already do. They allowed their greed to overcome their better judgement and lost. What do you think? Does Jeff Green have a rotten attitude or has he just been dealt a raw deal? -- posted by TJSampson » Tom - Re: Jeff Green: Bad attitude? In response to message posted by TJSampson:Bad attitude! His attitude displays a spoiled brat upbringing. In defense of Harrold Holly, it could have been, and probably was, Jeff Green who made the decision not to come in for fuel. Holley has been right on the money with his decisions in the past. It seemed very unlike him to choose not to be safe, rather than sorry. The emotion that Green showed during his post race interview showed that he was more upset with himself than anyone else. The fact that he struck out at NASCAR bolsters my theory. Green hoed his own row, and now he has to plant it with loser's seeds. -- posted by Tom
