Hi, Somehow I just cannot grasp the whole Adam and Eve thing. If Adam and Eve were the very 1st man and woman (as we were taught to believe), how then, did their children bear children and with whom did they bear children with? Their own sisters? Doesn't that go against everything we have learned? How can I believe such a thing?

Hi Donna,

Many people struggle with those ideas as well. The topic that I cover is mythology so I look at the Adam and Eve story as a myth to be decoded and not as a literal event.
From a religious point of view this story can be a little confusing as you are taught to take the story as historical fact even though there is another creation story in the Bible that you are to believe also.
For those looking to understand the elements of this story then just look at it as that - a myth, a story meant to explain something. And for those looking at it from the side of religion - just have Faith.
