Some fascinating mysteries for the season, Terri! Thanks for the article.

Being a fan of Poe, I may try reading the Raven and the Nightingale. Do you know if it has much of the flavor of Poe to it?

I couldn't get my hands on a copy of the Raven and the Nightingale last year. But my library has a copy now and I just reserved it. Thanks for reminding me. I will let you know after I've read it.

I liked this book and I'm going back to read the rest of the series. It has some nice Poe-esque touches especially near the end. Not only a Thanksgiving-themed mystery, this book also fits in nicely for those of you who like academic-setting mysteries--Karen Pelletier is an English professor at a small private college.

I think my daughter would enjoy it, too, being a college student and fan of Poe. I'll pass along your recommendation. Between the two of us we should get around to it. Thanks.

Them Bones by Carolyn Haines. This is also the first book in this series, set in the Mississippi Delta and featuring Sarah Booth Delaney.
