But back to Agatha: does anyone here think a marriage between Agatha and James can work? He seems a little cold for her--she's a very passionate person, an over-reactor. He doesn't really seem to cherish her qualities. What do you think?-- posted by Toppercat » DShelton - Re: Just discovered... In response to message posted by dawn26:I really like the books by Charlaine Harris featuring Aurora Teagarden and Lily Bard, both set in the U.S. and the Mrs. Mallory series by Hazel Holt set in England. I think these are the titles of the first in each series: -- posted by DShelton » pgtnr - Re: Re: Other series In response to message posted by Toppercat:I have been recently rereading the series from book 1. Should she spend the rest of her life pining after James? No, she should accept the fact that he may never come back. James, on the other hand, is a man who is afraid of exposing his true self. Perhaps it was his military training or his upbringing but he doesn't know thaCarselyly and in particularly Agatha is where he belongs. I think a marriage can definitely work but there would have to be substantial concessions on his parieie Wake Up James and go back to Agatha on your knees. While I enjoyed the latest book, The Day the Floods came, I hope Beatonton resolves the James- Agatha issue once and for all. Either kill him off or have them marry. I would like the series to go in a new direction with them as a married couple running a detective agency. I have always enjoyed Tommy and TuppBeresfordsford in Agatha Christie's Partners in Crime series and I think Agatha and James could be a modern version of them. What great fun they would have.
