Thomas Robertson

Are there any students wishing to compose in the blues style? Or are there any teachers wishing to teach students to compose in the blues style?

I provide simple instructions, along with an example written by seventh-grader Sarah Richards at:

It is a neat article! And timely for me, because, now that I got that grant for keyboards, I can finally teach my kids the blues progression for them to play, not to mention a walking bass :-) School's starting so soon?????ARRRGGH! Where did summer go?

Well, Karen! Where have YOU been? We've been missing your posts around here. I am so excited for you and your Grant money. I look forward to hearing some of those blues riffs that your kids master by the Spring. And you're right! Where DID the summer go. I just completed my first week back and it felt like an eternity!!!! I was talking to someone on Friday and I was referring to something that happened on Thursday morning and it felt like that it had been at least several days before when it had happened. Whew! I'm looking forward to the Labor Day (3 day) weekend.

Thanks for stopping in. :-)

Wayne, please let me know whenever you have something that might fit in with Music Education and Kids. I like linking to my fellow Suite 101 editors. In fact, that goes for Thomas and Karen too. Let me know when we have something that might jive together. :-)
