» Red - Karen, what a ...

delightful article. It brought memories back of my music teacher in elementary school.

I also went to a small school where we had about 25 students in a class. It was a rural school and so much fun. Our music teacher for the duration was a man called Joe Blow. Really!! That was his name. Can you imagine the fun we had with that.

Anyway, he taught for many years and we all hated him with a passion. Unlike your Mr G, he was a strict disciplinarian and no fun at all. He would stand near me to listen, then tell me I was singing off-key. He embarrassed, not only me, but many other children. We were quite aware that we would never be great singers. We didn't need him to tell us in front of the whole class. However, he always picked us for Music Festivals once a year and we often came home with a prize. We fooled him. LOL

I would like to see him now. I am the greatest singer in the world I am told and it does my heart good. Of course it is only my grandsons, aged 3 and 5 who tell me that. Everyone else begs me not to sing. LOL

However, even though Mr Blow was not my favorite person, I give him a lot of credit. We always seemed to bring a prize home from the Music Festivals.

Take care and thanks so much for submitting this article to the Childhood Memories Event. It was a great addition.

» Susie_Q - Childhood Memories

I hate it when I hear about music teachers who do that! I wish you could have told him to "Blow" it out his ear! But, you do have fond memories of the awards you got, and even better memories of singing to your grandkids. What more audience does one need?
