I have experineced many of your syptoms, including:
eye twitching,
facial twiching, my cheek
Moodiness, mood swings
depression
joint pain.
digestive problems
forgetfullness, particularly common words
fatigue, that just wont go away
tingling and partial numbness
My doctor blames everting on hypothyroidism but I am being medicated for this and my levels are right. I cant help but think there is more too it. I go through bouts where the symptoms are worse and want some answers.
Its difficult to get my legs to move some mornings, its like I really need to concentrate.
Does this sound like what anyone else has experienced?

In response to message posted by saababy:

I do know how you feel...My neurologistsuggestts that I am OK as well, even tough my MRI showed lesions in the T1 & T2 regions of the brain. I have extreme fatigue, numbness and tingling in my right handsensitivityty to heat, prone to tripping & falling, and the lists goes on. The problem I have now is to get my primary doctor to refer me to anotheneurologistst for a second opinion. My depression gets the better of me these days due to sheer frustration...
Keep me posted

I wonder how a neurologist can say you're "OK" when you have evidence of lesions from your MRI, in combination with other classic MS symptoms?? I wonder what his (or her) reasoning is? I hope you're able to get a second opinion soon.

I think the fatigue and frustration are the hardest parts of coping with MS. It's depressing to have to fight for a referral (especially when you're so fatigued to begin with!)

I hope you're able to get another opinion so you can have some measure of peace of mind. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you...

Regards,
Pamela

» saababy - I don't get it

The medical profession can do so much and they can't decide what is wrong with me. Aren't we all sick and tired of the run around?? I have found a very nice doctor now, but she is not "sure" yet. How is anyone sure about MS??
Can anyone tell me why the doctor's can't start me or anyone else on meds for MS and see if my symptoms get better?? My neurologist says she is pretty sure I have it but not all the tests point that way. If I could have it and no one test proves it, why not try the meds to see?? Can someone out there explain this to me?

Good News!! I am going for a second opinion next week!! I can hardly wait. The symptoms are the same but do get worse if I over do things, it is hard to slow down. And a lot of people say, you don't look sick...Which makes my bouts with depression even worse. I will keep you posted. Thank you for the encouraging words!

» saababy - A new twist

Ok, now I am being told that I probably don't have MS. My MRI results showed the brain lesions but the contrast showed they are probably not active, so there is now no evidence of MS. Spinal Tap was also fine. The only thing found was a raised white blood cell count, and a raised sedimentary count. Now my doctor mentioned Vasculitis. Anyone out there hear of it?? Can anyone tell me about it?? The medical journals are very technical. Has anyone heard of blood diseases that mimic MS symptoms??

Thanks

In response to message posted by saababy:

I'm showing a "differing" diagnosis as well. My Neurologist now suspects that I have Neuro-Behcets: an autoimmunene disorder affecting the Vascular system ie. Vasculitisis and Thrombosis. My Internist however, still believes that all of my symptoms can easily be credited to MS.

I don't know what your symptoms are or if you've ever been checked for Behcets. I wish you luck in your search.
