Try educating yourself before trashing a talented person like Ms. Lange who at least has the conviction to voice her own opinion. Will you blindly follow our country to war without first examining your own beliefs and values. Obviously, Ms. Lange has and believes in herself strongly enough to voice such a strong opinion. Whether or not you agree with her, it has no bearing on her work.I applaud intelligent and informed people like Jessica Lange and Michael Moore and others who do their research, believe in a better world for their kids, and have the courage to stand up for a less popular viewpoint.
Bush is not God and doesn't have the answer to this age old problem, most of which was brought about by US policy in the first place. Get real.

Just because Ms. Lange has educated herself about the current international crisis we find ourselves in and has some concern about human life and the life of her family doesn't make her and piece of shit. On the contrary, it makes her a lot more courageous and brave than you. She has the guts to stand up and speak her mind, a very Pan-American thing to do, mind you, and she is hardly a Hollywood diva. She says so herself. Get a grip. The USA may not end up being the kind of country you think it is if we keep blindly following leaders who care more about being reelected and supporting their financial backers than the outcome of their dangerous policies. Take some time to read, look up the facts, and learn about why President Bush and his administration are making the decisions to put our young men, and our very way of life, at risk. At least Ms. Lange has, and I'm sure she could care less if she even read your pathetic "insult" towards her.

Trying to convince us that Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were just big, misunderstood teddybears. Ms. Lange should try a little less soap-box standing and a little more reading. She might start be reading a short history of Iraq: "Saddam's Bombmakers," by Khidhir Hamza; someone who actually KNOWS something about the threat that Saddam poses... She does not dispute Hussein is a tyrant. That, most of us agree. What Lange is saying is that war is premature in this instance. The ignorance coming from most who are in favor of the Bush administration's strategy have not researched enough and believe all of the propaganda being fed to the US public. To be democratic, look at all sides of the issue. Yes, I would label Hussein a dictator and his people have suffered. But is this war worth tens of thousands of lives, billions of US dollars, and years of rebuilding an alliance with our allies that the present government has dismissed? If you saw them you could not make statements like you did about it being our policies that have brought this about. No, Bush isn't God, but he's the only one who has all the information that we do not, and he's the only one who can make whatever decisions he must to keep his people free and safe. You should be thankful that we finally have a president with the b*lls to not take the terrorism anymore, instead of a pansy like Clinton. Funny too, no one said a thing when Clinton went into seveal other countries without the UN's okay, trying to divert attention from his impeachment hearings. Where were you then? If she had truly educated herself to all sides of the issues she wouldn't be saying what she is. Her speaking out isn't courageous; she hasn't worked much (which is a shame as I used to like her, but I won't spend my hard-earned money on her work anymore - another benefirt of the wonderful freedom we have in this country) and speaking out will put her in the spotlight. Oh, and because she says she's not a dive, she's not? LOL Who would say they WERE one? Besides, she's too old by Hollywood standards to be much more than a character actress now; too bad for her because she is talented. But, just another case of Hollywood hypocrisy; doesn't matter if you're talented if you're over 35-40.
And you, my dear, need to do some research yourself instea dof listening to the liberals. Ourt policies have nothign to do with terrorists killing innocent civilians. Do you think outpolicies killed those on 9/11? No, radical religious fanatics killed those people, and they've killed many more before and are still killing innocents today. No matter what we would do policy-wise they will always hate us because we're not of the same race and religion. It's one of the biggest cases of racism ever and you can't see that. If a white person did it here to a black or hispanic, they'd be sued. Yet let radical Mulsims, whi have bastardized the Muslim reliigion do it, and you call it bad US policy. You're just as ignorant as the radical muslims are. If you feel the US's policies are so bad why don't you leave and live elsewhere. In teh USA you're free to do that. In Iraq, you're not. I wish everyone who feels this war is wrong or that US policy is the reason for terroism against US citizens would leave the USA; if they don't then they're hypocrites. Just like the celebrities who are saying they're going to leave. None of them will; where else could they make the bucks they do here and not pay huge taxes? They won't give that up. I only hope that people will boycott their work and boycott the companies who sponsor any of these actors. Hit them in the wallet where it hurts, and you won't see many actors spouting their uninformed drivel in the future.

WOW!I’ve been reading the comments about Jessica Lange and her political stance. I debated what to do – remove them or leave them. A quandary. I guess I’ll leave them because I believe that is what the war is about – FREEDOM. As they say – rightly so – ONLY IN AMERICA. I’m afraid I did not see her public appearance against the war, so I cannot comment.
I believe that humanity is the stance of America – first -- and terrorism is running a close second. I find it hard that anyone who has not seen the news releases of the gassed Kurds could even question our reasons for being there. As they say – the rent comes due – Saddam is way behind on his.
I truly wish to thank everyone for (possibly) reading the article. I have to say I love her as an actress but I may not agree with her political view of the war. Just please try to keep the comments clean.
