» alavie - Arriving in Toronto....suggestions for travel to Montreal plus.

Cher Norman,

What a wonderful person you are! I am so excited to have found this site! Enjoyed your article on the Montreal mountain. Would you mind obliging me alittle, however? I am arriving in Toronto from the US and would like to spend the five extra days I have there going on to Montreal. How would you suggest traveling to Montreal, and once there where to stay that is very nice...3-4 stars...and any side trips available for someone alone, but very excited about seeing some of the exquisite beauty of the mountains in the region, if possible. I'm not comfortable driving in foreign countries quite yet...any help about sightseeing conveniences (tours you suggest, etc.) will be VERY appreciated! I am studying French for this trip to honor all of you as well!!
Merci beaucoup,

Cynthia

Hi Cynthia: I just noticed your posting today-I hope I am not too late in replying: to drive to Montreal from Toronto, take the 401 Highway and it will take you right into downtown Montreal. Driving time is 5 1/2 hours- Refer to my links on the hotels there are many listed and if you have any further questions about any of them, let me know. Bon Voyage Norm

» harvardllm - Norman I´d need your help

Dear Norman,

I did some research about Montreal and found your site too. It´s very nice and I will come back again, for granted! I am from Austria - Europe and I´ve been to Montreal this february and I really love this town, it´s one of the nicest I´ve ever seen and I´ve been some places so i think i can judge, but still it´s only my point of view of course.
Well actually I am thinking about settling there, if i am allowed immigration, but first i have to graduate from University in Vienna, Austria.

I´d like to ask you a question, if you don´t mind, and i hope that you´ll reply to me ( johnfkennedy@chello.at)
My girlfriend is from Montreal and i am going to see her in august. I´d like to surprise her with a nice and romantic dinner somewhere, I´d prefer somewhere outside with a nice view, if the weather is fine, which it should be in August (hopefully). It shouldn´t be too expensive, around 40 CAD/person would be okay. Do you know any places where we could go? You´d do me a big favour if you´d reply. I´ll be heading to Montreal on August 5th, so i hope to get some reply from you untill then!

Thank you in advance,

Jürgen

» harvardllm - Something i have to add ;)

I read your biography so i just wanted to add that i am into civil law too, well austrian, mostly continental-european civil law and not anglo-american, but still. And i am thinking about doing some postgraduate-degree in Canada, maybe McGill or Concordia, don´t know yet.....

Yours Jürgen
