I would like to hear from Montrealers, former
Montrealers and travellers to Montreal who may
like to share their experiences. Please don't
be shy. I am sure many of you have something
to say which we can all share.
Regards-Norm

» bigguyinpasadena - Life in Montreal

Having visited Montreal twice, and loved it,I would like to hear from people who live there what life is like for the residents.I have lived places many tourist love but it's a different story for everyday residents. Thanks,Bert

Hi Bert: Montreal is as vibrant as ever and now with the summer festival season over we will shortly be into the winter season.
We will now have to prepare ourselves physically as well as emotionally for the cross country skiing in the many parks in and around Montreal as well as skating, sledding, etc.
For those of you who may enjoy the winter sports drop me a note and I will be more than happy to indicate to you where to ski or skate. We may even be able to cross country ski together.
Regards-Norm

Hi Norm: I will be making my annual trip to Montreal over Thanksgiving this year (US Thanksgiving) and we are greatly looking forward to it. As usual, we will be taking the spectacular Adirondack up from NYC, after spending a night there. In Montreal, we will be staying at Auberge des Passants du San Soucy, which we love, particularly their breakfasts. I saw a suggestion you made in one of your message about Le Festin du Gouverneur - that sounds like fun, as my son is 13 and it is a little more difficult to find things that interest him. He also likes that museum in Vieux Montreal that has the ghosts, so we'll probably have to go there again. Do you have any suggestions of a restaurant that serves mostly pasta - a fairly upscale restaurant, but one where we could perhaps get different sorts of ravioli and pasta? Also, any other suggestions? Thanks lots, Lynne Williams

Hi Lynne: I noticed your posting on my site asking about Italian restaurants.
The best Italian restaurants are located in Little Italy:
Some I can suggest are: Quelli Della Norte- 6834 boul Saint Laurent- Metro is
Jean Talon de Castelnau- Tel- 271-3939:
Baffoni-6859 Bld St Laurent- Tel-270-3715: Casa Cacciatore-170 Jean Talon Est
Tel-274-1240: Trattoria Carissima-222 avenue Mont-Royal Est- Tel-844-7283:
Casa Napoli- 6728 Bld St Laurent- Tel-274-4351:
In the Notre Dame de Grace area near my home you have Al Dente Tratorria-
5768 Monkland- Tel-486-4343:
My suggestion is to stick to Little Italy in order to have the real Italian food:
If You need any more help don't hesitate to email me.
