» Sunbear - Frost

Hi Linda,

Thanks for a wonderful essay on one of my favorite poets. I actually had a lucid dream with Frost as the main character back in the late 70s (I had not been smoking anything either smile).

I was so happy to read that you also see the ambiguity in the choice in "Two Roads." You can certainly read "I shall be telling this with a SIGH [emphasis added] some where ages and ages hence. . ." in a somewhat sardonic tone, as if the speaker realizes that either road has its ups and downs and that either path would have lead to a equally significant denouments in his life. Sorry for my wooden tongue; that is a kind of rough idea of my feeling about the poem.

I should have enjoyed being your literature student in college.

Best wishes,
Tom

Hi, Tom--
I'm glad you enjoyed my Frost essay. I'm sure you would have been a delightful student, because of your genuine interest in literature.
