Welcome aboard, Deborah!

I know MU**s aren't typically consider "Massively Multiplayer" games in the video-dominated gaming industry, but IMO they are about as massively multiplayer as it gets! So in my role as CE of the Online Multiuser Text Games topic I'll take special interest in the news you provide.

As a huge fan of MMOGs, though, I'll be psyched to participate in your topic in the future smile Welcome aboard!

In response to message posted by Dantessa:
Hi, and thanks for the welcome!

I, too, view MU**s as MMOGs! These days, the industry seems to view MMOGs as "graphical" only rather than including text games - but they're all multiplayer to me, too.

In fact, I view the text games as taking more skill and imagination in many (if not most) ways. You really have to put a lot of yourself into the text game, and role-playing is the norm. In the graphical games you get a lot of non-role-players, which can be a negative for many people.

I'm so pleased to be here at Suite, and look forward to contributing to the community.

I couldn't agree with you more Deborah. I enjoy both graphical & text games, but for different reasons. I play text games for the challenge of great roleplay. I play graphical games for mindless entertainment, in the case of traditional FPS, or for a different level of challenge, in the case of things like puzzle/adventure games. Of course, graphical strategy & good RPGs require thought and skill too...but...it's just a different thing than being involved in impromptu real-time play with other players, with nothing but text and your imagination to get you through it ;)
