Please help identify my dog
This archived discussion is "read only". « Previous 1 2 Next » » degraff - Please help with my mix breed? Hi! I have a (what I think she is) a lab/dalmation mix. But I would really like to know for sure what kind of mix breed she is. If someone knows where or how I can find out what kind of breed she is, please let me know. If perhaps someone has a picture, please email me a picture so I can compare.Thank you so much! Dee -- posted by degraff » rattywriter - Greyhound Lab mix? My one dog is what I believe to be a greyhound lab mix. She is very slender and all legs and when she runs it's amazing. Her face and tail look more lab though.-- posted by rattywriter » mcs313 - What are the breeds of my mixed-breed dog? I adopted my dog from a local shelter about 3 1/2 years ago. She will be 4 in three months. They said she was a lab mix, which she looked like at the time, but then her ears spiked up, her tail curled, and her forehead became wrinkley. I dont think she looks like a lab anymore. When she was still small, but growing, she looked like a basenji to me, but not anymore. The vet said she is a chow chow mix, well i don't see that in her either. Some people say she looks like a lab/german shepard mix. I did a little reaserch to see what she was and I think she looks like a Jindo (very rare breed), but I'm not sure. Ginger is very protective of the family and acts like a watch dog. She barks at strangers, but when she gets to know and trust someone, she loves them. She also can search and find a hiding or lost person if you tell her to. Will someone please tell me what she is? I would really appreciate any oppinions. Here are 2 pictures of Ginger. -- posted by mcs313

Ginger is a tough one to figure out. I have an idea that she could be a conglomeration of many breeds but have you considered Collie or Sheltie? She has their coloring and the little "skirt" on her hind legs. If she's small, there may also be some Corgi. With the wrinkled forehead and curled tail, you may be right about the Jindo, although the Shiba Inu, Chow, Dingo and other "primitive" breeds could also contribute to that look. -- posted by Joy Butler » tinyalicia - Re: Please help identify my dog In response to Please help identify my dog posted by skigh:i ave what we believe is a greyhound/lab mix... i think yours may be mixed with something else or diiferent traits are coming out. our dog is a rescue from friends that got her from the pound. she has the more otterlike tail (which all labs and greyhounds have except for goldens or mixes or something else, usually) also on the back of our lab/ possible greyhound its low in the front then curves up so she has extra long back legs and a high rear. then again yours may have more of the lab traits coming out. at the vet there are posters of the different breeds there are a lot that look similar but more that might have more traits alike. -- posted by tinyalicia » jimbag8 - Re: Please help identify my dog In response to Please help identify my dog posted by skigh:I have a yellow lab greyhond mix that looks very similar to your dog. -- posted by jimbag8 » ubieto - Please help identify my dog In response to Please help identify my dog posted by skigh:Hey, I'm in the same boat. She's about 8 months old. Please help me out and give me your opinion.http://www.chazhound.com/pictures/showph... If you would like to see pictures, email me at hawley919@gmail.com! People assume she's a pit at times also, but those who know and breed pits (and there are a LOT around here) know she's greyhound. I think its the brindle that throws a lot of people off... -- posted by AngelaAshton « Previous 1 2 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
