Rottie could be right but then again, he could be Swiss Mountain Dog and Coonhound giving the Rottie appearance. http://www.akc.org/breeds/black_tan_coon... At any rate he looks like a sweet, laid back dog. -- posted by Joy Butler » StrmDncr - Re: Re: Re: So my wife and I are looking into adopting a dog. If I remember correctly, Beaucerons, Dobermans, Rotties, Black and Tan Coonhounds and Tibetan Mastiffs all have those markings. As crazy as this sounds, it's a Shar-Pei/Rottweiler mix....and I feel very confident about that assessment. There is no Bernese Mountain dog in there....the hair is too short. Body and side profile of his face is clearly Shar-Pei...you can even see a few slight wrinkles in that pic, giving him the look of an older dog.-- posted by Lemes22 » baddad70 - Re: Re: So my wife and I are looking into adopting a dog. I actually just adopted a 12 week old puppy from a neighbor that is a shar pei/rotti mix and he looks very similiar to this dog. The dog I have has markings like a rotti but the face and wrinkles of a shar pei. The ear problems also point to a shar pei. Ask the foster home if he snores a lot, a sure sign of a shar pei. -- posted by baddad70

Mixed breed puppies are even harder to identify than adult mixed breed dogs and I can't tell from the pictures what size the puppy is now. My best guess is that she could be some kind of mix of maybe Poodle, Pomeranian, or Chihuahua. I would think she will stay small. She sure is cute! -- posted by Joy Butler » mej67 - Re: Re: puppy breed In response to Re: puppy breed posted by JButler:Thank you, we were thinking she may have some of those in her as well. When we took her to the vet he said that she was at least 6 wks and gave her her shots. She is 2 lbs 14 oz. Her tail has a bit more curl in it than the pics show. We have been having fun with her and she is the star of the family! ;) -- posted by mej67 » CajunKnight - New Pup My wife and I had a puppy wander up to our house and have been unsucessfull in finding the owner. So we have decided to adopt him. I was wondering if anyone has seen a puppy that resembles him. I would like to know what breed he is or what kind of cross is possible here.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/Caj... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/Caj... this one to give idea of size http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/Caj... -- posted by CajunKnight » CajunKnight - New Pup In response to New Pup posted by CajunKnight:Sorry about that I thought I was starting a new thread.
