Where to find a routine
This archived discussion is "read only".
» mikaselm - routines Hi everyone!Hey, I recently tried my hand at coreography, and was not too impressed with the results. I'm just beggining in the dance, and I think a routine to practice with would do me some good. Also, my freinds are interested in what I am doing, and want to see what I can do. Do you know of anywhere on the web where I could find a simple practice-type routine for this purpose? Thanx -- posted by mikaselm » ajaraks - Re: routines I'm sorry I haven't seen any good practice routines posted on the web, but I do have some suggestions for making your own. I've found that it helps to jot down names that you can remember and a short description of all of the basic steps you know in two categories: still, and traveling. When you have that list put a star by the ones you like most and put them in an order while alternating your still and traveling steps. You can mix it up a little by practicing to all different tempos and rythms. It's amazing the sort of adaptations you can make here that can turn into your favorite signature steps. In my class we've grouped all of the shuffle-step movements into a five-variation series we do over and over. An example is step-together, step-together, front-side, front-back. I hope some of this helps! Have a great time. -- posted by ajaraks » ghaziya - Ankestamen's web site has one In response to message posted by mikaselm:Ankestamen's web site at http://groups.msn.com/Ankestamen/ has a beginning choreographed routine. I've never actually tried to do it, so I don't know whether it's good. -- posted by ghaziya
