why do people's armpit smell different?i have brothers sisters who have body odor like me, but the difference is how bad they smell....one of my bro smell worse than me while one of my sis smell a little better....and so on

and the smell is quite different too....what do you think cause body odor in armpit? we all prespire in the armpit and i assume bacteria is the culprit....i assume bacteria reacts with prespiration to produce the smell....??

i also assume that we smell different because we may have different bacteria?

but im wondering how could we have different bacteria?we live in the same hous since birth and share washing machine and clothes...so i expect us to have the same bacteria? does gene paly a role in BO?

actually, now i manage to elimintae my body odor by using deodorant for a month...i have been odor-free for about 8 months now and i dont need to use any deodorant at all...

but im curious as to what cause BO..is it in the gene..or is it caused by bacteria?

i personally think its caused by bacteria because i managed to eliminate it using a deodorant containg anti-bacterial....

but im also confused why some of my bros and sis smell a little better/worse than me ...should't we have the same bacteria?because we live together in the same houe since birth

if i were to have children, im worried they might have BO too...i dont want them to have BO....and maybe i can prevent them from having Bo if i know whats the cause of BO..

Your brother and sister may smell worse or different because of the amount of hormones and the type of hormones in circulating in their bloodstream. BO tends to get worse in teenagers and they may have more BO because of this. Also the willingness to shower differs by age. Some people do not like to shower and their BO is stronger.

Is there a web site, or sites, that any one knows of that lists methods/procedures for the recover of general and specific bacteria? For instance, methods for general plate counts, or Salmonella. Currently I am looking for a procedure to detect the presence of Pseudomonas/Burkholdaria cepacia in water.
