» cancal - Underarm bacteria

Everyone, I know exactly what you mean. 40 year male.I have been dealing with this for a few years now, however in the last 2-5 years, it has become progressively worse. A few things that I have found that helps. Shaving my underarms helps a lot. Bacteria is thought to harbor in the hair. Target brand Anti-Bacteria body wash seems to help a great deal. Use a cloth with it. I am currently using Crystal deoderant now and it seems to help as well. I still sweat a great deal, but the odor is not as strong any more.
Try it and let me know if it works. I am currently also trying a new lotion and I will report back with my findings soon. Hope it helps everyone. Good luck.

I was just curious to know how people go about smelling there B.O. as well? I know some people can just smell it when it comes on or they can smell it all the time. For all those who can just smell their deodorant, are you sure you're not just being paranoid? I mean if you put your nose right up to your armpit you should be able to tell the differance between your b.o. and your deodorant. Plus you know what your armpit smells like when you don't wear deodorant so you should be able to compare it to what your armpit smells like with deodorant. Make sure you wear unscented products because scents make bad body odor smell worse. I also use unscented fabric softner and detergent.

My main problem is that I haven't found a deodorant that lasts through thick and thin. I've only tried about 5 and one worked for me for about 2.5 years (atleast to my knowledge it worked smile ) Anywho, It's really been depressing me lately, but I'll run to the grocerry store and find something hopefully. Anyone have any good suggestions on an unscented deodorant? I've tried Speed Stick which worked great for a couple years until my body got used to it, Mitchum i didn't like because it was too potent and had a weird smell, Sure which worked for two weeks, but for some reason doesn't work well anymore (maybe i developed an allergy? It did irritate my skin a little)and I tried like two scented kinds that didn't work at all. The funny thing is that I don't sweat much and I don't really need to wear deodorant when I'm just with family or at home, but once I start to sweat a medium amount, a few deodorants just fail me...

I feel like I could be writing what you all are writing: no deodorant works... I will smell 5 minutes after I put a shirt on after a shower... I've just come to learn that this is more than a deodorant issue though. So most of you are much smarter than I am! Out of curiosity, do any of you have IBS or any other type of intestinal problem? I looked up one of the remedies someone suggested, Robinul Forte to be exact, and found links to IBS, which I have. I'm going to keep researching, but I thought I could save myself some time by asking first.

» Clana - Please help

Has anyone checked out the website nomoreodor.com. I am curious to know what product their referring to, that is non oily, non greasy quick drying topical solution. It can be bought at local stores for a $1. If anyone knows please tell because I am so tired of spending money on products that don't work but then again what choice do I have.

Rubbing alcohol at least one above 50% volume. Or you can also go the witch hazel route. A lot here have done this to no result. At least you just saved some money!

everyone has tried Certain Dri right? I knew someone who had very bad armpit odor. They didn't sweat much, but their pits still smelled very strong. They used Certain Dri and used a regular unscented deodorant on top of it and their odor was gone. The odor was pretty serious, no regular deo could cover it up. Worth a try if you haven't given it a shot.
