» akulkarni - Cure for Staph

To who it may concern,

My girlfriend has had small cases of staph for 14 years now in the pubic area and has been taking antibotics to try and kill the bacteria. However, she still has these boils regularly and the antibotics have not seemed to cure the infection. She has now developed swelling on the right side of her body (primarly top of her foot, right side of abdominal) and she has pain in various spots of her right side too (lower back, abdominal, calf and foot). The doctors she has visited so far have not been able to assign her an adequate treatment because her symptoms have gotten worse. We went to an Energy specialist and he claimed that it was a viral issue or blood circulation issue. The swelling is getting more prominent and I want to address the root of the infection sooner than later. Could you please provide any advice on this matter?

Thank you so kindly for your medical assistance.

Regards,

AK

» ana36 - HELP! i have staph but im allergic to keflex

im 21 and i am a full time caregiver for my grandmother who has alzheimers. i need help, info, and advice but i cant find more than 30 seconds at a time to search.
2yrs ago i developed these sores on my legs, then it eventually spread, um upwards, my butt cheaks and was much worse there. 9months ago i THOUGHT i had a brown recluse spider bite. 7 months ago my new doctor discovered my legs and the "bite" was from staph in my hair follicles. unfortunately im allergic to keflex, but it wasnt so bad then so i didnt worry.5 months ago i discovered i have heart problems that so far are extremely difficult to diagnose, the one certain is i have "floppy valves"
i happened to stumble across an article about staph infections starting in the skin and leading to the heart valves. im curious to know which came first my staph or my heart problems, but more importantly im terrified. please someone help me, please... i dont know what to do, i have no info and i "work" around 13 hours a day 7 days a week.

In response to HELP! i have staph but im allergic to keflex posted by ana36:

Ana,
I too had a non multi-drug resistant infection with Staph in my blood (no skin outbreaks). At the time I had also been having some odd heart pains (once going to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack.) My Internest found that I had bacteremia (which is staph in the blood). They put me in the hospital for 7 days and I had round the clock treatment with Vancomicyn and Azithromicine IV. Terribe experience. But after release from the hospital within 3 days all my heart pain had completly gone away. This was pain that I had put up with for 5 years or more. That wasn't by Dr.s goal but it did happen. Thought you might like to know.
