My name is Jim. In your opening remarks you spoke of distractions causing you to miss time with the Spirit. I am living alone and have plenty of quiet time on my hands, but still find it hard to make a connection with the Spirit. When I go to my private place, I find it hard to talk to God without asking Him for something. The only thing I have need of is the realization of His Presence. Worldly goods mean nothing to me. I just don't feel like there is a connection when I am asking for things. I feel as though I should be talking to Him like a Father, but don't know what to say to Him like I would my earthly father. How do you talk to God like He is another person? For example, what are you gonna do today? Are you happy? Nice weather eh? Are you ready to eat? What's on tv? Man, that was some game last night. It's always "what can you do for me today?" I realize that God is the Cause and we are the manifestation, but what am I manifesting? Someone is much further than I in the Spirit and I need help in conversation with God. Thanks

Jim,
I think it's difficult for a lot of people to figure out exactly how to talk to Spirit. Most believe that humans and Spirit are seperate entities, I disagree. Have you considered the idea that you are one with Spirit and so, therefore, everything you do is "talking to Spirit and Spirit talking through you?" Your thoughts feelings and actions are an expression of Spirit.
Also, who says that you have to actually talk to Spirit? My personal opinion is that too many of us spend a lot of time talking to Spirit and not enough time listening to Spirit.(myself included) Clear your mind and your heart, go into meditation and just listen.
