» Muata - Ye are Gods
Passion and courage come to mind as I read your words Yvette. Your scriptural documentation and presentation of premise is in my opinion impeccable. Of course this information was once called hidden or forbidden knowledge because it gives power to the masses of people and thereby eliminates or lessens the effectiveness of the centralized oligarchical religious structure where only the elite could be considered holy and talk to God.Unless someone is already seeking different answers and solutions to old problems, they can not hear your voice. The information is not knew, it is as old or older than the scriptures you site. It does require one to think differently and to challenge ones faith and or belief. Most of us are ill prepared to do so.
Your commitment to clarity and unflinching resolve is an inspiration that is transformative for those of use who are prepared and willing to challenge our faith and belief.
Thank you for allowing the God in you to express such a beautiful truth about us all.
Peace,
Rev. Muata Rasuli
In this spirit of finding the hidden meaning of Bible teachings, lets look at John 4:24. There it is written “God is spirit; and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” According to American Heritage, spirit is “the animating force within human beings; soul.” Animate is defined as: “to give life to.” God then, is the force which gives life. If God is the life giving force, then there must be God in everything which is alive. Any person, animal or plant you can think of, if it is alive, must contain God. Worship means to “love and honor as a deity” It was said that we must worship in spirit and truth. This means that we must love and honor God (i.e.: the animating force within all living things) So then, to “worship in spirit and truth” is to acknowledge God in each and every living thing and to love and honor every living thing as God.

» aball42 - Metaphysical Christianity
Yvette,Let me begin by saying I applaud your desire to bring understanding and respect among peoples with strongly differing opinions.
I hope that desire will temper your heart and mind asyou read my comments following.
Let's begin with your opening statements. Yes, metaphysics is the study of truth. Yes, the term Metaphysical Christianity is not the oxymoron it seems to be. The dictionary definition of a Christian is accurate, but not all encompassing. A Christian is not just someone who professes to believe in Christianity. A Christian is someone who has understood the spiritual death that resulted from sin in their life, repented of that sin, and received the gift of salvation and eternal life provided only in the person of Jesus Christ.
"For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God." Romans 3:25
"For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6
"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
You see, Christianity is not just a belief system, it is not just a religion, it is a transforming relationship with the eternal God through His son Jesus. Because we are human, because we sin, because we are not holy, God cannot reach us. Because Jesus was more than human, He was also God, because Jesus was without sin, because He was holy, He is the intermediary between us and a God who created us to love us. He made us for His pleasure. We blew it. He fixed it.
To understand this concept, one must be able to read the entire Word of God with the understanding that only comes with the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The only way a person can have this infilling of the Holy Spirit is to have a relationship with God through Jesus. Please understand, Christianity is not just a religion founded on the teachings of Jesus; it is so much more life changing than knowledge or practice.
Secondly, you define God as the relationship between mind and matter. I am sorry honey, you have no idea. God is many splendid things, and yes, He desires a relationship with each and every person, but he is not defined by that relationship. The Bible gives us many names for God. Each name describes an aspect of His holy and perfect character. He is El Shaddai - the All Sufficient One. He is El Elyon - The God Most High. He is Adonai - Lord, Master. He is El Olam - The everlasting God. He is Jehova-jireh - The Lord will Provide. He is Yahweh - Lord. He is Elohim - The Creator. He is Jehovah-raah - The Lord My Shepherd. He is Qanna-Jealous. He is Jehova-rapha - The Lord who Heals. He is Jehova-Salom - The Lord is Peace. He is Jehova-shammah - The Lord is There. He is Jehova-sabaoth - The Lord of Hosts. He is El Roi - The God who Sees. He is Jehovah-tsidkenu the Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. He is Jehova-mekoddishkem - the Lord who Sanctifies You. Oh, precious child, you do not have to strive to understand the teachings of Jesus, get to know His Father by reading His letter to you. You will understand. There is no hidden meaning in the Bible. It is plain for those who belong to God.
Finally, let us address the falicy of believing that because God is the life giver, everything that contains life is God. If you make a clay pot, if you form it with your hands, carve it, fire it, paint it, it does indeed contain an IMPRESSION of you and your creativity. BUT, it is NOT YOU.
Oh sweetie, God is the Creator. He does not dwell in the creation unless that Creation asks Him to. But even His indwelling Holy Spirit does not make that creation into God Himself. Please understand this. To believe that everything that has life IS GOD is called animism. It is also called idolatry. Please read Ex. 20:4, Lev. 19:4, Deut 27:15, Ps. 96:5, Is. 66:3, Acts 15:20, 1John 5:21.
Do not fall prey to the enemy of your soul, Satan. He will do all he can to keep you from truly knowing God. He will provide you with all knowledge and information that seems to be truth, but it is peppered with tiny fallacies and falsities. "There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death." Proverbs 14:12
I want to make it clear that I certainly do not believe I have all the answers to everything. I just become deeply concerned when we try to reduce Christianity to a strictly intellectual belief system. This completely defeats the purpose God intended as He guided men to record His Words in the Bible, and as He revealed to us His plan to reconcile us, His beloved creation, back to His bosom. Understanding and knowledge are precious, but wisdom is a gift from God.

Jesus Christ die for our sins and his blood was shed for us. There is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved. Unless you believe in Jesus andsaccept him into your heart you reject God and will burn in hell. The are many false prophets out there and metaphysics is one of them, if you follow their way you reject the one who we are suppose to follow- the Lord Jesus Christ.-- posted by DVSpence3

A bit condescending, don't ya' think , what with all the sweeties, honies and the like? No one can claim to have the "right" answer. Because you believe in your path to truth does not make you the authority on all. Truth is in the eye, mind and heart of the beholder.Did you take a lot of Bible history classes? I assume so since you majored in "Bible." I am curious about your thoughts on the origin of the bible content...who decided what "books" would be included?
What about the Gnostic gospels? Why weren't they included in the bible?
Do you believe there is more than one way to look at something? The literal interpretation of the bible is very hard to do, isn't it, because the translation from Greek and Hebrew text didn't always "fit" with an English word or phrase, so substitutions were made.
Love and light,
I'm a believer...

In response to message posted by Carrie_Smith:The Bible quotes Jesus...another interpretation...
Jesus said, I AM the Truth, the Way and the Life.
God's own answer to who are you? "I AM the all that is, the Alpha and the Omega..." Therefore, Jesus was saying "God (I AM) is the Truth...."
Regarding "No man comes through the father but through me..."
I believe this quote refers to Jesus inferring that through his teachings, man will finally understand his divinity, his oneness with his creator, God, our father.
Was Jesus the son of God?
Of course, as we all are. We all are "children of God."
"His only begotten son?"
Jesus was the one who reached the highest consciousness level and awakened (became aware of) to His oneness with God, Spirit, our Creator.
Jesus got it. Some of us never will. And that's okay. They will just wait until after death to experience their "heaven." Others will believe Jesus that their "heaven is on earth," and that their heaven "is at hand," right here, right now and will experience fully gold pavement in this lifetime and throughout eternity.

I just read the first page of your reasoning and I think you are w-a-y off base. Just because God created everything, everything is not God nor is it like God. God created Lucifer. And Lucifer LOVES to make men think they are like unto God. Didn't the serpent in the Garden of Eden tell Adam and Eve "You shall be like God?"-- posted by merrymix
