Virginia, is the statement of faith given in your article or one similar to it held by all Messianic Jews? Or are there variations in belief among Messianic Jews as there are among Christians? BTW, like you, I am a Christian, not a Messianic Jew.-- posted by rahunter_nf

In response to Statement Universal? posted by rahunter_nf:Hi Bob! All of the Messianic congregations and Web sites I have visited have a Statement of Faith. I always read their statements before I use their sites as a reference or for personal study. For the most part they are the same. Some simply state the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed, which is very similar (a Christian Creed issued by the first Nicene Council, beginning "I believe in one God. . ." Other sites post a statement similar to the one I have posted, and they all include those basics.
There is a somewhat lengthy statement of faith posted at Messianic Congregation Shema Yisrael, which is my virtual congregation.
The only variation that Rabbi Jacobs at Shema has noted in some of his articles and/or messages is that a very few out of the large number of Messianic congregations place somewhat more emphasis on the Law than the Fundamental Messianic Congregations who place no emphasis on the Law, just as some Christians place emphasis on works(Law) over faith. (See James 2:14-26).
