I know your question was rhetorical, but hey, stick big yellow smiley faces on the bathroom mirror every morning - a different one for each day. I can say that because of my age and blame it on sinility! LaLaLa

Traute, I would be very interested in learning of those "steps of coming into the presence of God" from Psalm 100 if you would consider sharing them with us here. I think it would be helpful.

Really?

God is omniscient. God is here. God is there. God is everywhere. We are always in the presence of God.

Or, are there places where God doesn't go?

V, let me finish the article. It fits well into my Healing Hug topic, and the contents is too long to post in a message. I promise I will link the article here ASAP, even though it won't be published yet.

» biogardener - You know what I mean, Phil.

You know what I mean, Phil. There are degrees of presence, and the Bible is full of them right from the beginning of Genesis when Adam walked with the Lord in the Garden of Eden. You know what it is like to be face to face with God, I would think. That is what I have spent my life teaching the participants in my Bible studies, and yes, children are just as capable of experiencing it as any adult, maybe more so.

I know what you mean; but, I also know how many other people take that statement.

They look for a stage to be set just right. But, what we don't admit to in that concept is that God is always in our presence. I know you believe that and probably without a doubt; but, there are those who do not know that is true. God is available to us in Spirit and that Spirit of God has taken up residence in our very beings. We cannot run far enough or fast enough to rid ourselves of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Being cognizant of God's presence in our every moment helps us grow in the Light.

I know you know that. I've been following your posts for some time, now. No flattery--"just the facts, M'am, just the facts", as Detective Sgt Friday of Badge 714 fame would have said.

» Dubh_Sidhe - on coming into the presence of God

As one studies the Torah, he comes to understand that the High Priest served as the intermediary to God on behalf of the Children of Israel. In Leviticus 16:2 God informed Moses that Aaron, the High Priest (the Choen Gadol) was not to enter the Holy of Holies as an ordinary occurrence. Aaron lost his 2 sons, Nadab and Abihu, due to the manner in which they came into the presence of God. The purpose of the deaths of these two young men was to teach Aaron when and how to enter into the presence of God. In other words God showed Aaron that there is a right and a wrong way to approach Him. No man, even the High Priest was to approach God as if he were equal to Him. He must prepare himself by confessing his sins and the sins of his household. Then there was a sin-offering presented (Leviticus 16:6). The lesson for us to learn here is that there is a way in which God should be approached. Although God is alway available to us because of the finished work of Messiah Jesus, He should always be approached in a respectful and thankful way.
We can come to Him anytime and anyplace and enter into the presence of God provided we come through Christ.

Educational as well as inspirational!

Thank you for showing so very clearly that prayer and thanksgiving are to be continuous in a Christian's life. Truly, gratitude must be an attitude! smile

You said, "Truly, gratitude must be an attitude!

How true, Sylvia, and good attitudes are key to one's health and longevity. I cannot think of anything much worse than being around a grumpy, non-smiling person all day at work or school, or even one's mate. I think a Scriptural study on attitudes would be something worthwhile. I like that little story about two ministers enjoying a walk in the park. One remarked what a beautiful day it was, and the other said, "Yeah, but look at that ugly buzzard flying around!" Good to see you,Sylvia.
