» Jo Murphy - Just sent this off to a friend.

Hi Bronwen,
I just sent this off to a friend as she loves narrative therapy and I thought it might be nice to hear something so nice about your own style of operation.

"The other thing which I find exceptionally interesting is the fact that most narrative therapists I have come across believe in the narrative way to such an extent that they try to live their whole lives that way. They attempt to treat their friends and family in the same way they treat their clients. Now, imagine if we were to treat our colleagues in a psychoanalytic manner! I guess everyone would avoid us like the plague. However, because of the basic respect (and please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying psychoanalysis is not respectful!) which underlines the way the narrative therapist operates, it is not an abnormal way to treat others. What it can do, though, is enrich your – the therapist’s – life too!"

Thanks for the pleasant read,
Jo
