» majestic2000 - Downside Of Depressive Drugs In my experiences for the past 40yrs,of my life depressive drugs have not done for me what prayer has.In taking these drugs I've gained 150lbs,also I've lacked motivation, and slept inexcessively. There were times when I neglected my family, and my home;as well as my church life.My duties in answering the call of God to go fourth and teach his word.To those of you who know how to pray, pray first;see if God wants you to take the drugs.Prayer is working for me!!!!-- posted by majestic2000 » RebaStar - Faith and healing... Dear Jennifer,I have found that prayer gives me access to a God who is a heck of a lot better than your average Joe psychiatrist, who just wants to medicate you and your symptoms out his hair. Prayer gives me hope and meaning-which is what many mental patients lack..and also, I know I am talking to someone who REALLY cares, and does so free, 24/7. I am not against doctors and meds, just saying doctors and meds alone don't get you help or get you well! GOD IS MORE POWERFUL--let Him have a chance at your problems. In my case, about 90% of my problems disappeared after I became a Christian, and God guides me on how to handle the rest. Bravo on a great article, wish Dr. Saunders would read it, -- posted by RebaStar
