Actually, it was my imagination that provided the entertainment - mental pictures of congregations squirming while the presider prayed as long as he was able.Excellent work!!!! Interesting, too.

I am currently in a seminary and the priest who was my pre-novice master oftens tells the hilarious story of the time he fell asleep during his own homily! He had paused to reflect and things happened from there! This seems to be praying for as long as you are able to its extreme!
