» swest - Hi, Kent! Just wanted to say that you have written a bunch of good articles here on Martial Arts. I'm reading them all as time permits.I was able to progress to a yellow belt in Taekwondo several years ago before I stopped with a foot injury. At the present time, I'm looking for someone who is teaching Tai Chi, which would be less strenuous for an "oldey but goodie" lady like me. Will you be doing any articles on Tai Chi? Keep up the good work! -- posted by swest » wkfung - Re: Hi, Kent! In response to Hi, Kent! posted by swest:Thanks for visiting this section! I highly encourage you to look around for a good Tai Chi teacher, as the art, done properly, is not just good for you, but profound and effective. As a hint, though it looks slow and relaxing, and it's low-impact and easy on the joints, the art is actually still quite a workout and you can definitely work up a sweat doing it. Any instructor that tells you otherwise is watering it down and wasting your time ... As for articles about Tai Chih, I'll be mentioning and incorporating Tai Chih more into my articles, but am not currently planning to devote an entire posting to the art at this time But that can change, if inspiration strikes! BTW, I like your topics, too! -- posted by wkfung » swest - Re: Re: Hi, Kent! In response to Re: Hi, Kent! posted by wkfung:Thanks, Kent! I just found out that two Tai Chih instructors have been added at the local Karate studio. I'm going to check it out. Will keep reading your articles! -- posted by swest
