I am a new member, I would like to inform anyone interested in the MartialArts of this special event.I was a direct student of Abbe sensei in the 1950's and next year we are celebrating 50 years of Budo.Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 50th Aikido Celebrations 1955 – 2005

The legendary master Kenshiro Abbe Sensei (1915 -1985) arrived in the UK in 1955. He had the permission of O’Sensei to teach Aikido in the UK. This event is to celebrate the arrival of Abbe sensei, and the inception of Aikido. Taking part in this event will be four surviving 1950’s students of Abbe Sensei, Sensei’s – H Foster – H Ellis – R Reynolds - D Eastman .
This event is principally an Aikido seminar, as Abbe sensei was a man of Budo, we will also honour the Martial Arts of Judo – Karate – Kendo – Kyudo – Iaido. There will be special guest instructors. also invited guests of note…This seminar will also offer Aikidoists the opportunity to briefly experience the other Budo Arts..This event is non-political which is for all Aikidoists of all styles… Visit BritishAikido and the National Aikido Database for all the latest information.
