» DesertLight - It looks good, but I have questions...

The article that appears here and the website to which I was referred are written in non-sexist terms. This would lead me to believe that there is now help available for male victims in Australia. My readers have told me that the situation there is much the same as it is here in the States--little or no help for men, and male victims who phone police for assistance are often arrested despite the evidence that they are not offenders.
This has not been a subject of discussion for a few months, so perhaps things have changed. Is there now help available for men (that does not automatically presume they are offenders?) If so, maybe you could direct me to some specific programs or services. So far all I've been able to track down are two shelters in the US and one in Ireland. I get requests for info from all over the world. THX!

In response to message posted by DesertLight:

I specifically wrote in non-sexist terms, even though a lot of the info was designed for women. Same rules apply.
Australia, like the USA is slow in realising that there is a lack of social and health resources for men. But there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
It is quite a list, so I'll put it in an article for October 10 - use what you would like. Keep in touch. Cheers Anne Bransdon.
