» LindaSC - Black Tuesday

Hi Anne

I am a mother of 2 boys aged 10 and 13. We live in the Blue Mountains and we have all been saddened by the tragic events in America. I have, however, been astounded by the mature way in which they, especially my eldest, have discussed the events and been able to look at world politics.

For a long time I have been meaning to sponsor a child and on Thursday my eldest phoned World Vision and we're going to sponsor a Bangladeshi girl. I hope that it gives my children a sense of being able to do something to make the world a better place and counteracts the helplessness we all feel.

I have also taken photos of the shrine that has been put in place at Glenbrook and posted this at Suite101.

In response to message posted by LindaSC:

Hi Linda
It is like this tragedy happened in our own lounge room. My kids seem to understand it better than me. I just hope they learn from it so we never see it happen again.
Cheers Anne B.
