» humorous_sage - Hurricanes
I spent three years in hurricane alley and never had a single visitation. Now, the only problems I worry about are thunderstorms, tornados, and floods. Luckily, even they seem to keep their distance.Charmed -- for the moment.

Nice to see you!
The biggest worry we have is snow up here in the north country! But that is usually a well forecast event, and doesn't cause more than a day or two problem But I do keep buckets of water and extra supplies year round incase of power issues!
Stay charmed!

The only time I was snowed in was when the Christmas storm dumped 24 inches of snow on Denver back in the days when we lived there. We were pretty well snow bound for about 3 days. The TV kept asking for volunteers with 4-wheel drives to help get nurses and doctors to the hospitals in the area.

Yes, we've been snowed in, but the most was for two days - usually they clear the roads fairly quickly even though we live in the boonies! County road!
Actually, getting around was worse when we lived in NJ - then things seemed to take longer. One time we had an ice storm that led to no school for a whole week - and we were stuck at home and couldn't get out of town!! I remember reports of rescues by snowmobile for people trapped in cars on the interstate!

In response to Re: Re: Re: Hurricanes posted by gitaylor:I guess there is some truth in the saying: "The cold winter winds made the Vikings much stronger." That, however, doesn't seem to apply to the Minnesota Viking football team -- unless "stronger" applies to the lutefisk odor that surrounds them.
