» humorous_sage - Homework

Why is it that many of today's students don't turn in their homework -- even though they complete it on time? I don't remember that ever happening when I was in school.

» Zanzi - Great article!

And timely! I think (as a parent) getting involved with the kid's teachers, the homework, etc. is the best thing I can do to ensure that my child understands that homework is important, valued, and needed...for all the reasons you pointed out!

Hi Hank,

Nice to see you!

Yes - this is one of the big problems! It usually stems from a lack of preparation at home. One of my favorite tips was putting the packed bookbag right by the front door so that the kids couldn't miss it when they left for school the next morning.

Sometimes teachers and parents need to work together to come up with some creative ways around this problem.

Have a great day!

Shoudn't testing be the major source of the grade in place of homework. A good test score Should tell the teacher more about how much kids learn than any homework assignment.
