I think this would be a very scenic trip and unique accomodation. The sea lions and pounding surf really make it appealing. The seashore has always been a favorite place of mine.Caroling under the stars is a wonderful idea for the Christmas season.

Annette,I enjoyed your article on California lighthouses. There are seven historic lighthouses on the coast of North Carolina (Cape Hatteras being the most famous) and I always enjoy visiting them when I get the chance. A few of them are open during the day for touring but none are open as lodging at night. Spending the night at a lighthouse would be a great experience!
