» rahunter_nf - Intriguing
Your equating the four gospels with "four calling birds" intrigued me so much, John, that I immediately read the preceding four articles in your "Twelve Days of Christmas" series. In turn, the first article in the series, 12 Days of Christmas: Prologue, aroused my curiosity about the origin of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" so much that I searched the Internet for what others say about it. These are the most informative and/or interesting of the Web pages that I found:Catholic Information Network

Central Valley Christian Schools

I may have satisfied my curiosity about the origin of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and about the symbolism in the song. However, I'm still not finished with the song because reading the five articles published so far in your series made me decide to read the remaining articles as they appear to see what you say about the other "gifts given by our true love, the bridegroom Jesus Christ."
Best wishes for the Christmas season.
