The Watchman’s Job Description

I really enjoyed this article.

I love ezekial 33:3 where God tells him I have made you a watchman.

I believe that God has placed throughout many levels of society people with the specific role of watchman, in business, government, sport, schools, communities etc, people with the forsight to be able to see what is coming in the future to sound the alarm bells.

I also believe that you are right in saying as Christians we are all watchman, Jesus said watch and pray, we are to watch out for each other, to pray for each other, to watch out for our communities and to pray for our communities.

I think for many christians they are good at watching and even perhaps crying out, criticising what is happening and about to happen with a "I told you so type of glee"

I wonder though what would happen if we all took the role of being a prayerful watchman seriously ?

Thank you for your insights. Ezekial 33:3 was the Old Testament reading for that Sunday so you are right on target.

What would happen if everyone took the role of watchmen seriously? The church would have less strife, our society might be a better place, but then we'd have Utopia. It's a growth experience and we all have a learning curve in this job.
