» oleladee - pain meds

it sure is good to see that others are debating meds. I usually feel alone. People who don't have Lupus don't seem to understand and even those who do suffer don't seem to condone the taking of serious pain meds. Well with my Lupus and painful neuropathy, I am fast approaching the inability to walk at all or even wear socks or slippers. The pain was so horrid i was becoming a real grouch(nice word choice) to my family.
Since going on pain medications i am more able to function from day to day. i tried to duragesic patch but my skin type would not support the patch and it would be slippery before the end of the first day so i am now on ms contin. i find that it works well and my pain is under control. if i had cancer there would not be any issue surrounding the pain med. why then is there a question just because i happen to have lupus instead.
i guess i'm glad i found this site where other people come to talk about their feelings.... just wish i wasn't venting on my first visit.
