» Bayougypsyqueen - Re: itchy hands and feet causing loss of sleep!!!

I too am suffering from itchy hands and feet thats driving me crazy. I have never had anything like this before. Last week I came down with a severe case of the Hives all over from head to foot, the main abundance of them on my thighs and legs, went to the ER and they basicly said...that Hives can be caused by anything, newly introduced or even something that I have used for years and now suddenly have become allergic too, soaps, perfumes, dyes, ect. Foods and materials. So all they could do for me was tell me to take benadryl and put me on a 6 day dose of Prednisolone. Which helped with the hives, but then the itchy hands and feet started a few days after starting this medicine (so hoping its the meds causing it). so I been beating my brain trying to think of new things I have added into the household or into my body in the last few weeks, and the only thing I could think of was that my Doc took me off Paxil and put me on Wellbutrin 3 weeks ago. So I went to the Wellbutrin website, and found out that many people had written in about Hives and Itchy Skin and pretty positive it was due to taking Wellbutrin. So I discussed my findings with the my Doctor and of course his first reaction was to say ,he never heard of anyone getting Hives or skin problems from Wellbutrin, but that he would not rule it out. So he told me to stop taking it and drink plenty of fluids and wash it out of my system, and then I have the choice of re-introducing it back into my system to test and see if this is the cause or he will try something new for my depression. So if anyone out there has heard or experienced anything like this, please let me know what you think. I just need too stop this itching....I can't sleep.
