Itchy hands and feet?

I was looking it up and came across something I have been wanting to hear forever. After reading this I was thinking a little and realized what had triggered it. I had been washing dishes for a long time and the soap was too harsh. I hope I have helped everyone here. I know it can be a huge pain and very uncomfortable, sometimes even painful. Just another little hint, sometimes to ease the problem I use Eucerine or Aquaphor. They are excellent. My 13 month old daughter has inherited this problem and has dry patches all over (not too serious) and her doctor told me about Aquaphor and it is so great to us! I'm not sure if what i have is lupus, actually I'm not sure what i have at all. i drive cab at night, 12 hours of sitting with my hands at chest level. thats the only thing i can think of that could possibly be causing this. at first i thought it was an allergic reacation to something on the steering wheel, but then my feet and legs and other body parts started itching and burning. I've tried caladryl clear, nothing, I've tried asorbine jr., nothing. i still have hope in the solutions I've seen here, but right now, I'm on here and not getting any sleep for tonights shift. it is very important that i get my sleep. I'm hauling people and peoples' children. i don't have the time or the money to go to the doctors, so in a way I'm depending on all of you to please help me. tell me what this is and how to get rid of it. its driving me insane, and may cost me or someone in my cab their lives.thanxnxeddieie -- posted by warrensethers » micklady - Re: itchy hands and feet causing loss of sleep!!! In response to message posted by warrensethers:Hello and welcome...Yikes a run away cab? I can only imagine what that would be like in NYC! Bendryl makes a clear gel that you can get without a prescription. I've used it on my skin when I have problems with itches. You may have to apply several times during the day. The other thing you might want to think of is the climate outside and inside your cab. Example dry cold weather expoeure and the heat of the cab may be causing the skin problems. I have never had anything like this before. Last week I came down with a severe case of the Hives all over from head to foot, the main abundance of them on my thighs and legs, went to the ER and they basicly said...that Hives can be caused by anything,newly introduced or even something that I have used for years and now suddenly have become allergic too, soaps, perfumes, dyes, ect. Foods and materials. So all they could do for me was tell me to take benadryl and put me on a 6 day dose of Prednisolone. Which helped with the hives, but then the itchy hands and feet started a few days after starting this medicine (so hoping its the meds causing it). so I been beating my brain trying to think of new things I have added into the household or into my body in the last few weeks, and the only thing I could think of was that my Doc took me off Paxil and put me on Wellbutrin 3 weeks ago. So I went to the Wellbutrin website, and found out that many people had written in about Hives and Itchy Skin and pretty positive it was due to taking Wellbutrin. So I discussed my findings with the my Doctor and of course his first reaction was to say ,he never heard of anyone getting Hives or skin problems from Wellbutrin, but that he would not rule it out. So he told me to stop taking it and drink plenty of fluids and wash it out of my system, and then I have the choice of re-introducing it back into my system to test and see if this is the cause or he will try something new for my depression. So if anyone out there has heard or experienced anything like this, please let me know what you think. I just need too stop this itching....I can't sleep.-- posted by Bayougypsyqueen » Bunchofnumbers1 - RESPONSE TO ITCHY FEET AND HANDS This just happened to me -- like the girl said she woke up with itchy and burning and sore feet at night -- did some internet research. I too was baffled. Guaranteed you have what they call chilblains or perniosis - look up the links on google for perniosis and you will find no cures -- only perhaps try calamine lotion. Also it says there have been some studies that show some relation to women and smoking and women and lupus and women and connective tissue disorder. I was diagnosed with connective tissue disorder and had an unusal titre test some years ago from silicone leakage due to ruptured breast implants. Hope this helps. It is an awful thing.-- posted by Bunchofnumbers1 » Bunchofnumbers1 - To Warren Warren this is not a female disease. It is in fact a rare disorder -- unusual reaction to cold. You are likely driving cab in winter time I would bet. It is a reaction to heating your legs etc. to quickly when coming in from cold. Also people who ride horse can get it on their thighs. It is not frostbite and no damage to the skin has occured from frostbite but the blood vessels are damaged. It is a cirulatory problem and they recommend calamine lotion or rubbing body with lanolin. Also wearing warm clothes on hands and feet and legs etc. not just the feet if it is the feet affected. This could very well be related to the herbs in the products. So becareful if you continue on it. You could try stopping the products , wait till the swelling and itching subsides and try to introduces the products to your body again. MOST important is if you get worse..( rash all over more swelling and more itching plus difficulity braething please go directly to the Doc or ER) OTC antihistamine is very good idean and water to flush the body. For the ring thing, try this. Take sone KY jelly and rub some all over your ring and under /around the ring, and what you then need to do is begin to twist and pull down toward the finger tip, all at the same time, to gradually pull ring off. It is hard to do but can be done. It can be painful esp as you get close to the knuckle! And you have to be persistent...I have removed many rings this ways vs cutting them! Good luck. I have been dealing with burning and itching for the past week. I've done the antihistamine and increase of water treatment. Not only did I have the itching, I developed a number of fever blisters in my mouth and ran a slight fever (99.3) for three days straight. I haven't had sores in my scalp but I have had tiny tender bumps that kept me from combing my hair for a couple of days.
